HUM300: Humanities
Prerequisite(s): ENG121

This course introduces students to the foundations of humanities, from Mesopotamia and Egypt to modern civilizations. Topics include literature, art history, cultural history, philosophy, and music. Upon completion of this course, students should be able to link the roots of humanities from early civilizations to modern aspects of contemporary culture, analyze ideas and philosophies that form the foundation of modern institutions, and explain how humanities served as not only entertainment, but also as a reflection of the history, politics and philosophy of their time.
