MA205: Principles of Patient Care

This course provides the skills necessary to be an active member of a medical team. Topics include medical asepsis, AIDS, vital signs and anthropometric measurements, medical emergencies, signs and symptoms of disease, SOAP and POMR charting, and methods of examination. Upon completion of this course, students will be able to administer basic first aid, assess vital signs, prepare and educate patients, create appropriate documentation, and perform basic clinical therapies. Healthcare provider CPR/AED certification is included.
